I chose Provide because my school of 26 years had used the agency and the staff had always been impressed with the cover we had and I heard good feedback from the teachers and I liked the high expectations that the agency had of them.
My initial meeting with Richard and Darren was very welcoming and immediately left me feeling excited and eager to join the team.
There was a commitment straight away to place me in schools that they knew I would like and also to send me to locations that I could get to, very often helping me with directions and ringing me to make sure I was OK.
The staff at both Barnsley and Worksop are lovely. I have met most of them in person and I can honestly say that they are all genuinely kind-hearted and extremely friendly. After three years, I feel like they have replaced my school family, which I really missed when I left my long-term school.
There have been a few occasions where I have been let down by particular schools and the support and reassurance I received from the staff was really appreciated. You don’t have the support from teaching colleagues when you are doing short-term placements so it’s very comforting when things are put into perspective and you are reminded that you are valued. I must mention Darren and Gina, who have been a tower of strength to me at times, and their positivity was just what I needed to get going again.
I have never signed up to another agency because I have had virtually continuous work at a good rate of pay. Provide promised me a rate of pay that reflected the experience I had accumulated over the years and schools generally agree to that. I have talked to other supply teachers who work for other agencies and their rate of pay is not as good.
After thirty years, I am still enthusiastic about teaching and I feel that is mainly due to Provide for providing such an efficient service which leaves you feeling valued and appreciated. They always give you feedback from schools and will ask for your feelings and opinions too. They work very closely with schools and have a professional relationship with them which I like because you know you are going to be met with respect and a friendly smile. Schools have high expectations of the service they have been promised and are very satisfied at the end of the day and often ask for you to return.
