Due to an anticipated increase in pupil numbers, a special school in Barnsley are looking to appoint a Full-time Teaching Assistant from September 2021. There may be an opportunity to commence in the Summer term if candidate availability allows.

Located in Barnsley, the school is easily accessible from the local area by both car and public transport, and has ample on-site parking. School hours are 8am-3:30pm (Mon-Fri, term time only).

The school caters for pupils with Autism and Moderate Learning Difficulties, aged 3-19. Ofsted judged the school as being ‘Outstanding’ in its two previous inspections. We are looking for a Teaching Assistant who can support colleagues in providing an energetic and forward-thinking educational community and nurturing environment.

You will be committed to supporting pupils’ education, and will support the delivery of broad and challenging curriculum with a child centred philosophy at its core. You will promote effective communication and independence throughout all activities.

We are seeking a Teaching Assistant with:

All candidates working through ourselves must have the following:

  • DBS certificate with Update Service registration (or the commitment to process a new application)
  • Minimum of Level 1 Safeguarding (or the commitment to complete training)
  • Full-time availability during term-time
