We are seeking 1:1 tutors to facilitate the learning and development of young people across South Yorkshire from September 2021. We have a number of positions available in Barnsley, Rotherham and Sheffield.
We work with a wide-range of young people in the region from a variety of settings, who have a diverse set of needs, including:
We are ideally looking to appoint experienced tutors who are seeking alternate roles in education and who enjoy working on a 1:1 basis with young people. Successful applicants will be confident in designing a programme of learning for a young person in a temporary role and supporting them to move on to their next phase of education.
It will be your responsibility to support pupils in preparing for exams, during transition to a new area or new setting and to provide high quality education to support learning and ensure continuity and progression. For pupils with EHCPs, you will deliver interventions in line with key points and goals.
Tutors will work either within the home, within a residential or care setting, or within a Local Authority community setting (such as a local library). You will be confident liaising with parents/carers, social workers, designated teachers and the Local Authority/Council teams to ensure continuity and progression of the young person(s).
We have a number of opportunities available, enabling candidates to take on a case load of pupils and the flexibility to work full or part-time as a tutor.
The core focus of sessions is to improve skills in Maths and English, but may include specific interventions for SEND pupils focussing on areas such as communication and interaction. You will also have a sound working knowledge of de-escalating challenging behaviour in order to meet the Social, Emotional and Mental Health needs of your student(s).
All tutors working through Provide Education must undertake or have undertaken a valid enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) with registration with the Update Service, and a minimum of Level 1 Safeguarding Children.
