Primary SEND Teacher, Wakefield

A specialist school in the Wakefield area which caters for pupils with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) are currently recruiting for a Primary Teacher. This is a small school with pupils between KS2 and KS4, who have a range of Social, Emotional and Mental Health Needs (SEMH) needs as well as Autism, ADHD and moderate learning difficulties. This a full time position, working on an ongoing basis to commence in September.

Candidates must have previous experience teaching children with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) and have an understanding around the complexities of SEMH and in teaching a curriculum to young people with behaviours that challenge.

We are looking for candidates with: 

• Previous experience teaching children with SEND
• Experience using positive and effective behaviour management strategies (A Team Teach qualification is desired)
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• A DBS that is on the update service (or be prepared to undertake a new DBS with Provide Education)
