SEMH Teaching Assistant – Doncaster

A specialist school in Doncaster which caters for pupils between KS2 and KS5, who have a range or SEMH needs are currently recruiting for a Teaching Assistant.

This is a part-time position (4 days per week), working on an ongoing basis to commence in June 2022. The successful applicant will work as a Teaching Assistant across the school, providing targeted support and intervention with key children.

Candidates must have previous experience supporting children with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs and an understanding around the complexities of SEMH and in supporting the delivery of a holistic curriculum to young people with behaviours that challenge.

We are looking for candidates with: 

• Previous experience working with children with SEND/SEMH needs as a Teaching Assistant or Support Worker
• Experience using positive and effective behaviour management strategies
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• A DBS that is on the update service (or be prepared to apply for a DBS with Provide Education)
• Level 1 Safeguarding Children (or be willing to undertake training)
