Our Brighouse office decided to do something a bit different to mark World Kindness Day on 13th November - by saying a special thank-you to a young pupil who donated her hair to charity.
Education consultant Nic Sykes presented Gracie O'Donnell, a year five pupil at Low Ash Primary School in Shipley, with a hamper of goodies after the youngster cut 10 inches from her hair to give to the Little Princess Trust.
Her donation will go on to become a 'real hair wig' for a child suffering from hair loss, either due to cancer treatment or alopecia. She also raised £555 in sponsorship, which will go towards the cost of making a wig.
Nic, who visited the school to present her with gifts and a certificate, said: "Gracie was inspired to make a donation after hearing of the work the Little Princess Trust does, and the positive impact it makes to the lives of children going through such a difficult time.
"When we heard about what she'd done, we were really impressed and wanted to reward her in some way. It's lovely to be part of this wonderful story.
